Arthur F. Hampton was born at New Orleans, Louisiana, in March, 1883. Volunteered from Elko, Nevada, February 23d, 1918. Served in Battery F, 2d Field Artillery, until his death from the effects of an injury, February 26, 1919. Went overseas with the 8th Division on October 28th, 1918, and his death occurred in France. Person notified of death, Cleve Zimmerman, friend, Harrison, Nebraska. Efforts to get in touch with relatives or friends have failed. His name is on the Honor Roll of Elko County.
